January 8, 2021
A Message From The Supervisor:
Earlier today, Friday, January 8, 2021 at 12:30pm, I was sworn in as your District 11 Supervisor. While this is my second term being sworn in as Supervisor of District 11, this moment in San Francisco, the State of California and the United States of America feels vastly different than four years ago when I first assumed office. The horrific events at the United States Capitol on Wednesday left me extremely saddened and dismayed to see our democracy being trampled upon. I know many Americans like myself are happy to see the transition of power happening on January 20, 2021. Outside of the violent events on Wednesday, these days just feel different.
As I enter my next four and final years as Supervisor of District 11, I would be remiss to not to speak about the impact and devastation that COVID-19 has had on our community, our businesses, and most importantly our children and seniors. I want to assure all of District 11 that I will be working tirelessly to make sure our healthcare entities like DPH, Kaiser, Sutter Health, UCSF and others are working in a collaboration and in coordination to ensure that San Francisco is ready when the time comes for mass vaccination. As Supervisor, I will continue to fight for equitable funding and support for San Francisco’s most vulnerable population during our COVID-19 recovery.
While COVID-19 recovery and getting our children back to school will be my top priority, there are several issues that my office will be tackling during this term. Some of the issues I will be working on will be to ensure that San Francisco Police Department is actively and aggressively meeting the Department of Justice recommendations and the 600+ measures developed from the recommendations. I will also be working on re-envisioning food security, stabilizing housing for our homeless, tightening up the language of Prop C Early Education and continuing the Board’s commitment to racial equity. I will continue to work to ensure that our City departments and authorities are working for the people, being fiscally responsible during these economic times while fulfilling their job duties at the highest ethical standards as public servants.
The next several years will be tough as we attempt to overcome the COVID-19 economic disaster but, I am confident that after our recovery we will be a better, more vibrant city that is centered around San Francisco residents and small business owners. Thank you and I assure you all the best is yet to come from my office.
Although our City Hall Office is closed to the public due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are still here to serve you. If you have any difficulty during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are available by email: safaistaff@sfgov.org or by phone 415-554-6976 (leave a message and we will call you back). You can also check for updates on my Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Supervisor Ahsha SafaiÂ

Grants of up to $25,000 will be issued in two rounds of funding to eligible businesses and nonprofits with annual gross revenue of between $1,000 to $2.5M. Businesses with annual revenue between $1,000 - $100,000 will receive $5,000; businesses with annual revenue of $100,000 to $1M will receive $15,000; and businesses with annual revenue of $1M to $2.5M will receive $25,000.
