S.F. Shines Program Now Receiving Applications
The District 11 Office is happy to report that San Francisco will provide $1.6 million in grants and design services to support neighborhood businesses that need to purchase furniture and fixtures and reconfigure space in order to meet health requirements for operating. By re-purposing grant funding from the program, which normally gives grants to businesses for facade improvements, the S.F. Shines for Reopening fund can reimburse up to $2,000 for past, in progress, or future work. Also, businesses in certain neighborhoods can get up to $5,000 reimbursed. Lastly, the City will also allocate $200,000 to be disbursed to businesses in need of legal support and/or in need of assistance in re/negotiating their leases.

New Program For Local Artists Announced In San Francisco -- The Basic Income Pilot for Artists
Mayor London Breed announced that San Francisco would be directing nearly $6 million in funding for artists, teaching artists, arts organizations, and cultural workers, in short, this is a universal basic income ("UBI") pilot program for San Francisco artists.
The Basics
The UBI program will provide up to 130 artists with $1,000 a month for six months starting early 2021 and the money can be spent on what these artists want (e.g, rent, food, art supplies) since there are no restrictions on what the stipend can be used for. The Arts Commission will also provide arts organizations with funding to reopen safely and will fund the creation of an online Arts Hub, which will serve as a one-stop-shop for artists and organizations looking for financial assistance, professional networking, and employment opportunities.
Lastly, today (Friday, November 6, 2020) Mayor London N. Breed announced that Mr. Ralph Remington has been selected as the Director of Cultural Affairs for the San Francisco Arts Commission, the District 11 office welcomes him! Mr. Remington was hired by the City following a comprehensive search led by the Arts Commission and will begin in January 2021.

S.F.M.T.A. Event-Related Traffic And Transit Impacts For This Weekend
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency ("S.F.M.T.A.") released the following upcoming event-related traffic and transit impacts for this weekend, from Friday, November 6, 2020 through Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
Parking Meters Pilot
Beginning Monday, November 9, 2020, the S.F.M.T.A. will test pay-by-license-plate system at existing parking meters on Indiana Street in the Dogpatch area. Drivers who pay at the meter will enter their license plate number instead of their parking space number. It is hoped that the new system can allow the City to save money by streamlining enforcement and reducing the amount of infrastructure needed on the streets.
Veterans Day Holiday Muni Service and Parking Enforcement
On Wednesday, November 11, 2020 (Veterans Day Holiday), Muni will operate on a weekday schedule.
Parking meters (all meters including color capped), white zones, nightly street sweeping (street cleaning) and safety violations (no stopping, no parking, red and blue zones) will be enforced.
Other SFMTA parking programs will not be enforced:
Residential Parking Permits (RPP) Zones
General Parking Time Limits
Weekday Daytime Street Sweeping (Street Cleaning)
Commuter Shuttle Towaway Zones
Unmetered Yellow and Green Zones
Vehicles creating a hazard and/or an unsafe condition (i.e. double parking, blocking a bike lane, blocking driveways, blocking crosswalks, fire hydrants, etc.) are subject to receiving citations and can possibly be towed.
