Wishing everyone a joyous Lunar New Year of the Snake and a radiant Black History Month. I am excited to embark on these next four years as a fierce advocate for District 11.Â
Since taking office, my team and I have been hard at work. We’ve been meeting with key department heads that steward the resources and deliver services to our communities; from MUNI, to the Mayor’s Office on Housing & Community Development, to the Police Department, to the Recreation & Parks Department.Â
In addition to my duties on the full Board of Supervisors and the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, I have been designated Vice Chair of the Land use and Transportation Committee. I am working hard each week on this committee to uplift community voices and champion housing affordability strategies to serve our diverse neighborhoods.Â
Last but not least, we have been very busy meeting with constituents and community members from the Excelsior to Lakeview, Outer Mission, Crocker Amazon, Mission Terrace, and the OMI to hear your concerns and priorities.  Â
Here are the Legislative Aides in our office:
Jackie Prager’s work areas are Public Health, Homelessness, LGBTQIAA+, Senior Services, and Scheduling.
Charlie Sciammas’ work areas are Youth and Families, Land Use/Urban Planning, Housing/Tenant, Transportation, Environment, and Recreation & Parks. (Languages: Spanish, French, Turkish, Italian).Â
Linshao Chin’s work areas are Immigration, City Budget, Workforce/Labor, and Small Business. (Languages: Cantonese, Mandarin).Â
KC Ho’s work areas are Constituent Services and Community Engagement. (Languages: Cantonese, Mandarin).Â
In the upcoming term, I am working hard to prioritize:Â
Public Safety & Clean Streets: maintaining community ambassadors, lighting maintenance, and public safety workshops and resources.Â
Business corridor support: bringing more foot traffic through community programming, including night markets, block parties, and activating public spaces.
Budget priorities: maintain existing programming in D11, maintain public transit, and childcare & senior services.
Policy Priorities: expanding before and after school programming for students, and expanding housing affordability and housing preservation strategies as well as advancing new 100% affordable senior housing.Â
I look forward to serving District 11 and working with constituents to get the job done! Please reach out to our office with any questions or concerns: 415-554-6975 or ChenStaff@sfgov.org
Speed Safety Cameras: Enhancing Safety in Our NeighborhoodsÂ
Â
San Francisco is taking significant steps toward safer streets with the introduction of speed safety cameras. These cameras will help prevent traffic-related fatalities, creating safer and more livable communities for everyone.Â
Â
Once the cameras begin operations in March, speeding events will result in no-fee warning notices until May when speeding events will result in citations.Â
Â
The cameras will be installed in these intersections in District 11:
-Geneva Ave (Prague St to Brookdale Ave), enforcing 30 MPH posted speed limit Â
-San Jose Ave (Santa Ynez to Ocean Ave), enforcing 25 MPH posted speed limitÂ
-Mission St (Ottawa Ave to Allison St), enforcing 20 MPH posted speed limit Â
